Read MoreIt's a story pharmacists know well. An elderly patient with more than a dozen prescriptions can't keep up and becomes non-adherent. Before long, the patient is hospitalized. The patient is eventually released, but with no clear plan to manage those medications, is at risk for the situation repeating itself. Pharmacies have long known that DIR fees were increasing at an alarming rate, and dramatically affecting their bottom lines, but who knew it was by 91,500 percent?
